About
Built for the owners who run the floor and the books.
The average independent restaurant gives back three to five points of margin a year to food costs that moved without anyone noticing. Not from carelessness — from arithmetic nobody has time for. Beef goes up forty cents, eggs nine, butter a dollar a pound, and none of it triggers a menu change until the quarterly P&L delivers the bad news in one lump.
Marji is the tool we wished existed for that job: photograph your menu, forward your invoices, and every dish's real margin is watched for you. When a cost moves, you get a specific fix — “raise the burger to $16.75” — and if you've linked a Square catalog, Marji can push the approved change for you (early access). That's the whole product. No inventory counts, no ERP project, no 30-day onboarding.
We're a small, founder-led team. The person answering support@marji.co also ships the code — which is exactly why the answers come fast and the excuses don't.
The rules we hold ourselves to.
Marji never changes a price without your approval.
Every recommendation is exactly that — a recommendation, with the evidence attached. You approve it, then it moves. There is no autopilot that reprices your menu behind your back, and there never will be.
Show the math, always.
Every alert carries its reasoning in plain text: “Burger margin dropped 4pp: 52% → 48%. Beef +18% since Apr 2.” If we can't show why, we don't say it.
Your numbers stay yours.
Recipes, costs, and supplier prices are never shared with other restaurants, never sold, and never shown to your vendors. Aggregate benchmarks only ever ship as an explicit, opt-in feature.
Honest AI, checked by you.
Claude reads your menus and invoices; AWS Textract handles document OCR. It's fast and it's good — and it still gets a line wrong sometimes, which is why every low-confidence item is flagged for one-tap review instead of silently trusted.
See it before you sign up for it.
The demo dashboard runs on our sample bistro's numbers, and the margin calculator runs on yours.
